We at RCPSKC believe in a purely scientific investigation. You will find that we do not use dowsing rods, franks box, spirit box, crystals or Ouija boards. While we can not attest to the accuracy of these devices, we can attest to the fact that, because of the method required to use them, they can not be presented as evidence. They are just one persons word that they work.
The equipment we use can be used by anyone and there are no magical explanations for their operation.
We record our entire investigation from beginning to end with our 16 channel video system with IR cameras, recorded through a state of the art laptop computer and stored on a 1 tarabyte hard drive. We also record in the DIVX format. This allows us to record for 42 days without interruption. We will
probably never record for 42 straight days, but it is nice to have that option there for an extreme case. We employ a remote Pan/Tilt. If something happens within a room, we can remotely move the camera to follow the activity. We also have the capacity to wirelessly transmit Video and Audio when necessary.
It is believed, that a spirit uses energy to manifest. In some cases, the batteries of our equipment go dead for no apparent reason. In order to test this theory, we utilize EMF detectors. The Mel Meter is the first EMF detector made specifically for paranormal investigators and we are excited to have one of these awesome detectors.
More often than not, the EMF detector is used to debunk claims of the paranormal. We can usually trace a high EMF reading to some kind of electrical appliance or wire located close to the source. There are occasions, however, that a source can not be found and the EMF reading is "free floating". This is not evidence, but it is an interesting
side occurrence that can not be explained.
A new piece of equipment we are very excited to have is the Geophone. I will allow the maker of this device describe it's use in his own words:
Whats the "GeoPhone"? Well, its an electronic receiver designed to pick up seismic vibrations. Ultra-sensitive Geophone circuit 'listens' to vibrations in the ground. Ever received reports of Footsteps? You can place this kit inside or outside and watch the changing LEDs to see if there is someone or something coming. The closer it gets, the higher the LED reading.
You can also detect bangs and creaks in the floors or walls. Have you ever had reports of the bed shaking or vibrating, you can place this device on the head board or bed frame and fix a camera on it through out the investigation, the LEDs will light up the moment Vibration or movement occurs.
We have many more pieces of equipment, including ambient and non contact temperature probes, still digital cams and hand held video cams. All these things alone, are not good evidence of the paranormal, but together, they can provide powerful proof of unexplained activity. We always try and find a "normal" explanation
for any activity. Banging pipes or vents. Expanding and contrating building materials and even pets and children. If we can explain your activity as anything else, you can be sure that what ever evidence is left, is truly paranormal. This does not make it a "haunt", but it is not "normal"!
